Three Thousand Years of Longing Premieres at Cannes Film Festival

Adapted from the short story “The Djinn in the Nightingale’s Eye”, George Miller’s “Three Thousand Years of Longing” is a 2022 dark fantasy comedy-drama film. It’s about a scholar (Tilda Swinton) who meets a Djinn (Idris Elba) and is offered three wishes in exchange for his freedom.


“Three Thousand Years of Longing” premiered at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival on the 20th of May, where it received a six-minute standing ovation from the audience.


The films’ Australian theatrical release is scheduled for the 1st of September.
